About The Artist
Hey babes,
I'm Ireland.
If I'm being honest, I used to think I photographed confidence.
Then somewhere along the way I realized... I don't.
I photograph the moment a woman stops listening to everyone else's expectations long enough to hear herself again.
That's the part that keeps me up at night.
Because somewhere along the way, women were taught that existing comes with conditions. Lose the weight. Wait until you're confident. Be quieter. Be prettier. Be more. Be less. Spend your whole life trying to become someone different before you deserve to be seen.
I don't believe that.
I built IR Photography Studios because I wanted there to be one place where none of those rules existed. A place where you could walk in exactly as you are and know that was already enough.
Do I love creating beautiful art? Absolutely. It's one of my favorite things in the world.
But if you ask me what I'm proudest of, it isn't the photographs.
It's the woman who walks out of my studio standing a little differently than she walked in.
Not because I changed her.
Because she remembered something about herself that was there all along.
Outside of the studio, you'll usually find me barefoot somewhere in the woods, on the back of a horse, nose buried in a fantasy book, chasing my little boy through another adventure, or dreaming up the next ridiculous set I'm going to build.
This business has never just been about photography.
It's always been about people.
And if you're here, I'm really damn glad you found me.
Love,
Ireland
